Drugan (and Pal) served with the 41st Infantry Division as a Scout and with the S-2 Intelligence Squad.

He was on five beachhead landings in the Pacific Theater. Private John Drugan was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Infantrymen's Medal.

After the war John relocated to Warren, Michigan and married his wife Lavonne. John had an impressive career in education. He taught school in Brimley, MI and Eau Gallie, FL, where he was the Athletic Director, coached football, basketball, and baseball.

He taught in Roseville and Brablec High Schools, performed as Assistant Coach for Varsity football, Head Coach for JV football, and was a Baseball coach for over 25 years.

John also taught Applied Technology at Macomb Community College in Warren Michigan for 9 years before retirement.

Drugan was a member of the VFW #1146, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 2149, John F. Kennedy Council, and the American Legion. Mr. Drugan was the president of the Roseville Lions Club from 1975-1976.

John Drugan passed away on July 27, 2017 at the age of 92. Lest We Forget.

⭐According to The Dog Service Record Books found in Record Group 127, Records of the United States Marine Corps, located at the National Archives at College Park, Maryland, Pal survived the war and was returned to his original owner upon arriving back in the States. ⭐

The teenager got into difficulties at Lodge Farm Reservoir in Netherton, Dudley, on Tuesday evening His body was recovered from the water the next day by police divers.
