One of the hardest true crime cases I've ever covered.

On January 3, 2022, a 911 call was made from Slaughter, Louisiana. The caller, Sheila Fletcher, told the dispatcher that her daughter, 36-year-old Lacey Fletcher, had passed away while she and her husband, 65-year-old Clay Fletcher, were out of town over the weekend.

Police and ambulance shortly arrived at their house and were faced with a horrific scene.

The coroner described the state of Lacey's body as one of the worst he had ever seen. Lacey was autistic and also suffered from Locked-in syndrome. Her body was entirely paralyzed except for her eye muscle.

She was severely neglected, emaciated, and covered in feces and urine. Her parents, Sheila and Clay, let her sit, urinate, and eventually starve on that couch for years.

Lacey was starved to the extent that she tried to eat the couch cushion. Her body was found practically melted into the couch, covered in maggots.

THE TERRIBLE STORY OF LT. COL.RONALD SPEIRS.

THE TERRIBLE STORY OF LT. COL.RONALD SPEIRS. Lt. Col. Ronald Speirs, one of the toughest soldiers in Easy Company (Band of Brothers) was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, April 20, 1920. His family moved to Boston, Mass, when he was 7. He enlisted in 1942 & trained as a paratrooper, becoming a platoon leader in Dog company and later company commander of Easy Company, both of 506th PIR, 101st Airborne.  In January 1945, when Easy Company's initial attack on the German-occupied town of Foy bogged down due to the commander 1st Lieutenant Norman Dike, being wounded, battalion executive officer Captain Richard Winters ordered Speirs to relieve Dike of command. The selection of Speirs was incidental; Winters later stated that Speirs was simply the first officer he saw when he turned around. Speirs successfully took over the assault and led Easy Company to victory. During this battle, Lt. Dike had ordered a platoon to go on a flanking mission around the rear of the town. June 8, 1951  PRISON OF LANDSBERG (GERMANY) The execution of Paul Blobel.   "As soon as they were stripped naked, the Jews were brought in [Babi Yar].  They were channeled through two or three narrow passages, which led to the bottom of the ravine .   As soon as they arrived down, the Schutzpolizei agents grabbed them and forced them to lie down on the Jews already shot.  Everything happened very quickly.   The bodies were literally in layers.  A police shooter advanced by firing a submachine gun in the neck of each of the extended people.   The victims arrived so upset by the horrifying scene that they no longer had any willpower.  [...] As soon as he had killed one, the shooter, walking on the body of the shot, proceeded to the next one, which in the meantime had stretched out on the ground, and shot him.   It went on like this, uninterruptedly, without any distinction between men, women and children.  The children stayed with their mothers and were killed with them.  [...] In f

What method of execution in history makes your hair stand on end? Brandon James: "It’s called the Poena cullei (penalty of the sack), used as a way of punishing those who kill their mother, father or other close relatives (known as parricide) - it stems from ancient Rome.  The first known version of the punishment was carried out right around 98 BC until Emperor Hadrian really ramped it up in the 2nd Century AD. The Punishment For the crime of killing your nearest and dearest, you met your maker in just as cruel a manner. First, you would be bound by the hands.  Then, a sack made of animal skin is placed over your head (already horrible on a hot day, as you instantly start to panic and slightly suffocate).  Next, they couldn’t have you running off blind, bound, and gasping, so they would place wooden clogs or boards on your feet. Now, they proceed to beat the hell out of you. Actually, they beat you until you’re bloody (it’s the law), and then, gasping for air and unable to see th
