The Giant Moa.
Also called Dinornite, it is a gigantic non-flying bird of prey that lived in New Zealand until 1500.
It became extinct due to the vicious hunting reserved for it by the natives of the area, in search of fur, meat and eggs that the carcasses of the species offered.
It is a subspecies of the Moa, which generally had different sizes, the largest being - in fact - those of the Dinornite.
Specifically, these 'colossi' measured up to 3.6 meters in height and could weigh up to 300 kg, with one of the highest sexual dysmorphisms in favor of the female gender ever recorded in nature (280%).
